THE SLOPES
Located directly on the piste Leiterli-Hasler-Walegg, the house is ideally postioned for ski -in, ski-out. The hut can also be reached via the winter hiking trail and is very near to the cross country piste of Leiterli, Betelberg.
In summer the hut can be reached by hiking along the first section of the Lynx Trail. This trail is great for families and kids as it has activities and attractions along the way.
Contact us for details about snowmobile and 4x4 taxi service for luggage and groceries. (We are more than happy to organise this transport for you via email prior to your stay at an extra fee) Pack for the mountains, this is an adventure not a hotel. Keep the weight of each bag low, 2 x 25 kg is easier to load than 1x 50kg! Let us help you experience the wilderness with all the comforts of home.
This place is remote and secluded. In winter access is only by ski/snowboard or by walking. In summer the access is by 4 wheel drive vehicle only and it is a steep rocky road. You are able to take the cable car to the top of the mountain in both winter and summer but will then need to to hike to the hut. The hike is between 30-45 minutes depending on conditions. There is a restaurant which is open in the evenings at this top cable car station Leiterli. There is a short period each year when the cable car is closed for maintenance. To walk to the town is 1hour-1 hour 30min.
History: Built around 1810 and used as a cheese making hut on the alp.When construction started the hut was in a very serious condition with the threat that if not rescued it would one day be lost. It now has a solid foundation, strengthen structure and new roof. The hut has been reconstructed with love and attention to detail.
